Visual Effects for Film and TV Certificate
Program Overview
Max the Mutt’s Visual Effects for Film & Television certificate program offers a rigorous, in-depth VFX education that will leave certificate holders with the skill set and demo reel that employers need and often have difficulty finding. Graduates will have competency in colour correction, keying, rotoscoping, node and stereoscope compositing, camera tracking and matchmove methods, animation for visual effects, dynamics, 3D lighting and rendering principles, advanced modelling and more.
This program was designed to meet the needs of working people who already have a background in visual arts, knowledge of Photoshop, and basic Maya skills. Students will be able to do most of the homework for this course on their own time, and will be provided access to a blog that will summarize what has been taught in each class meeting.
Graduates will leave with an entry-level demo reel, and will have the opportunity to meet employers and have their work seen at an industry event hosted by Max the Mutt.
Program Length
This program will run for three consecutive terms:
• Term One: 11 weeks (plus 1 week break)
• Term Two: 10 weeks (plus 1 week break)
• Term Three: 20 weeks (plus 2 weeks break)
Classes meet two evenings per week. Students are welcome to work at the school on Saturdays, with the help of a highly skilled computer TA.
