Financial Aid Assistance
MTM College offers many options for students who are unable to pay all or part of their tuition due to financial hardship, including a number of scholarships and bursaries.
Students attending MTM are not eligible for OSAP, but many find the student line of credit to be a helpful alternative. A student line of credit is similar to OSAP in that you do not have to begin paying back your loan until 6 months after graduation, and interest rates are lower than a regular loan.

MTM College – Scholarships and Bursaries
The 2023-2024 MTM College scholarships & bursaries are sponsored by Visionary Education Technology Holdings Group Inc. (VEDU).
The scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate academic achievements and financial needs. Scholarships & Bursaries will be awarded to cover tuition fees. The successful applicants are responsible for textbooks, supplies and materials required to complete the program as well as their living expenses including accommodation and meals.
Funds are distributed in two instalments:
one in September and one in January.
The second payment is subject to a satisfactory progress report from the program coordinator with input from all course instructors.

Scholarships For Local Students Entering Year 1 & Current Students
Pauline Zhou Academic Excellence Scholarship
One (1) recipient $10,000 (annual amount, not renewable)
Who are eligible?
- Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada (local)
- Having been or will be enrolled full-time in one of MTM College’s diploma programs
- Incoming first-year students: Minimum average of 80% in 6 Grade 12 U/M courses;
Current MTM students: Minimum 7 High Passes or equivalent in the previous year
How to apply?
The applicants are required to submit the following documents by the deadline.

- An Essay (maximum 500 words)
Incoming first-year students: (1) reasons for choosing the program and educational goal(s); (2) a statement of why you need scholarship assistance
Current students: (1)Choose a piece of artwork and analyse it; (2) a statement of why you need scholarship assistance
- Portfolio requirements
All applicants must submit electronically a portfolio of 15 pieces of their original artwork. Six (6) pieces of artwork of your choosing. Nine (9) pieces must fall into the following defined categories.
- Character design (1)
- Environment design (1)
- Life drawings – gestures (1); extended study (1); Constructive figure drawing (1)
- Perspective (1)
- Splash drawing (painting or inking) (1)
- Program specific categories
- Animation Program: Storyboarding (1); Animation (1)
- Concept Art Program: Prop design (1); Creature design (1)
- Sequential Art Program: Comic page (1); Inking (1)
- Two References from your current teachers/instructors
- Transcripts/report cards
- Income information: evidence of financial need such as family tax return notices from CRA, your tax forms.
