Carolina is currently a Year 3 Storytelling & Illustration for Sequential Arts student
Carolina Baumgarten is from Porto Alegre, Brazil, and has been interested in art ever since she can remember. She only started to pursue it professionally though around high school.
Carolina has always liked to draw and create, so Illustrating as a job to her seemed like the most awesome idea in the world. She said that she is inspired by everything. Comic books, cartoons, other people’s work, etc. She likes to have different sources of inspiration.
After getting to know the school, it was obvious that Max The Mutt was the best choice for Carolina. To her the Illustration & Storytelling for Sequential Art program seemed amazing! She was excited about every single class offered in the curriculum. She feels the teachers showed an incredible amount of skills, the small classes had the perfect amount of students, and the strong mindset that the school has of “learning by doing” was just what she was looking for and needed.
There are just so many things Carolina would like to do after she completes school. First of all, she would like to publish a comic book that she is currently working on and plan on finishing by the end of the program. Then she would love to try all sorts of jobs and projects related to the Illustration field, such as character design, illustrating, comic books and even art toy designs.
