Dayna Griffiths is currently employed as a Background Painter at Nelvana.
Dayna grew up in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. With her father being an architect and her mother an artist, visual art has always been a major part of Dayna’s life. Making art – with whatever materials happen to be available to her – she said, ” is as natural and essential to my life as breathing.” It wasn’t until Dayna’s final year of high school, as when she began applying to universities and colleges, that she realized she had to choose a specific kind of art to pursue.
After graduating with a bachelor degree in Industrial Design then working as a researcher and design analyst, Dayna’s passion for world-building, teaching through story-telling, inspiring imagination and creativity in others got the better of her. She started looking for anything that could help her gear her skills more toward pursuing that passion. When Dayna found the Concept Art program at Max the Mutt College, and saw the range of courses offered and the instructors involved, she knew this was the right program to help her to refocus her skills and shift career paths.
In the next 5 years, Dayna hopes to have the opportunity to try her hand at a variety of in-studio art and design roles, to uncover first-hand where she would offer the most value and feel the most enthusiasm toward her work.
