Edwin Ochieng is a native of Nairobi, Kenya.
He has been studying art and design since first grade. After graduating from high school, he undertook a Bachelor’s course in Design (in artistic Illustration), at the University of Nairobi, under it’s School of Architecture, Design and Development. After two years of study, Edwin decided to set his sights elsewhere. This was due to the Institution’s limited resources and course options, as well as its focus on theory-based courses rather than hands-on training.
Along with his mother, Edwin searched up a list of the best art institutions globally and found that Max the Mutt was listed. After seeing the level of student work showcased on Max the Mutt’s website, he was keen on attending this school as his first choice. Edwin applied immediately and was accepted into the Concept Art program.
His fascination with childhood shows such as Bruce Timm’s Batman and Scooby Doo Mysteries, Movies like Harry Potter, Transformers and Earth to Echo as well as videogames such as god of war and Crash Bandicoot inspired him to study concept art.
Edwin’s goal is to be employed in the entertainment industry where he can nurture and develop his skills further.
