Ivo Panczel is from Switzerland and became interested in art as a career after High School.
He first attended an art school in Switzerland for a one year starter course to try and find his way. There Ivo tried out a lot of different things like fine art, graphic design, printing, photography and CG both 2d and 3d.
During his experiences Ivo found a program for game design that piqued his interest. The deeper he delved into the world of creating games, the more Ivo realized that he enjoyed working on concept work and design the most. He decided to start researching more into Concept Art specifically – something that the school in Switzerland could not offer him.
Therefore he expanded his search to first Europe and then overseas – where he found Max the Mutt.
Max the Mutt looked like the right school for his needs. Being small it meant that it could offer a good working environment, and a lot of one on one time with the teachers, as well as supportive and caring students. In the end the decision was a jump into the unknown, as Ivo just did not have enough experience. A jump that Ivo said he certainly does not regret.
Ivo had found that the longer he goes on with studying Concept Art the more he loves it.
Ivo said that his current goal is to find a job somewhere at a medium to AAA sized game studio in Europe. Nevertheless, he cannot tell where his studies will lead him in the future and he wants to keep all options open. In the end Ivo just wants do concept art.
