Bio

Samantha Besa is from Ajax, but is originally from Philippines. She has been interested in art for a really long time. She took any type of art related subject in school because she always enjoyed doing it.

Originally Samantha hadn’t thought about studying animation. Then she got to watching more animations and became very interested in how it all worked. She watched a behind the scenes for a Pixar movie and she this inspired her to explore animation further. She also felt that animation was a great combination of her interests for drawing and creating videos. She really liked the idea of the process of creating something and then seeing her art move as a final product.

At the moment Samantha’s goal or interest is to become a Background painter or Environment designer. She really enjoys creating an atmosphere that gives the illusion or feel like you are there in it or that wish you were. She is also interested in trying her hand on other things like compositing, character design, FX artist, etc.

In 5 years or more Samantha wants to travel to other studios in other countries because of how much she likes to travel. Her biggest dream is to make her own film one day starring a Filipino character, similar to movies like Coco or Moana. Samantha said that this is something she has always wanted to see as a kid, and hopefully in the future she can do create it.
