Introduction to Animation – Saturdays

Arts Workshop

Workshop Details

Join us for an exciting journey into the fundamentals of traditional hand-drawn animation. Participants will learn the same tools and principles the pros use, dating all the way back to the early days of Disney. We’ll start by exploring key animation concepts such as squash and stretch, timing, and spacing, working our way towards animating a walking character by the end of the session. This class is a great first step if you’re looking to take any of our Digital Animation workshops or if you want to develop your hand-drawn animation techniques.

No experience is necessary.

Ages: 13+

Please note materials are not included in this cost. Students will be given a material list prior to the start of the class.

Updates re: COVID-19

Last updated Monday, March 23, 7:00PM

Our top priority is to ensure students can finish the year and that they are still getting a proper and excellent learning experience, while also making sure everyone is safe and healthy.

At this time, we will be moving all diploma courses to an online format for the remainder of the school year. We are working carefully with instructors as we develop a course-by-course plan to ensure students do not miss out on any learning, while also ensuring we do not place any undue burden on our instructors.

While we are operating online, our physical location and office are temporarily closed.  Please email us at for any inquiries.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will post updates here as we get them as well as sending emails to all students and instructors.

We will be moving our Portfolio Reviews and Tours to online-only.

All planned events, talks, workshops, classes, etc. will not be taking place at the school. We are working hard to have as many things moved online that we can. Keep checking back for updates!
