Become a 3D artist using Blender. Blender is an open source 3D modelling suite used around the world. 3D modelling has many practical applications including: digital modelling; texture mapping; environmental design; pre-vis animatics; 3D printing and animation. This course will take you through many of the introductory features of Blender and give you the foundation to create models of your own design.
Meets weekly on Sundays from October 17th until December 5th at 2pm to 5pm EST.
This workshop requires Internet Access and will take place via Google Hangouts/Meetings. Sessions will be recorded and provided to students. Students will be required to use their web camera or phone during the stream to share work if they would like to receive feedback or direction with their life drawing.
Students are not required to have all of the materials listed below.
- Computer that meets requirements to run Blender 3D software.
- Blender software (free download for Mac or PC)
About the Instructor
NICK WHITE Nick has been working in and around the gaming industry for 20 years. He worked in various gaming studios as a Digital and Concept Artist for 12 years and then moved to teaching video game design. The courses he has taught include: 3D and 2D software; concept art; storyboarding; as well character and environmental design. As a freelance illustrator, he has done a wide range of commissioned pieces, such as paintings, pencil portraits, storyboards, posters, album covers and illustrations for children’s books.
