Comics begin with STORY and in this 6 hour Family Day Workshop, students will have the opportunity to explore their own creative ideas and form them into something tangible by the end of the workshop period! With an extended break after three hours, this Family Day comic creation session will explore and explain how to set up WHO, WHAT, and WHY in your own short comic!

Families are encouraged to sign up and attend as a group though individuals are always welcome! This all ages workshop that encourages sharing ideas and collaborating to create something completely original!

Consider who are the characters? What do they want? What is the inciting event that pushes them to pursue what they want despite the obstacles they face? Students will explore character development, story setting, story arc, and scripting. When all scripts are complete (or as close to complete as can be managed in the time allotted), the next step will be to sketch out these comics. By the end of our Family Day session, you’ll have an original comic that you’ve created together. Instructor Carla Ventresca is looking forward to spending Family Day writing comics with you!
